About OnShow

Organized by UOA (Union of Arts)

OnShow — Discover films. Meet the filmmakers. Watch the films they choose to share.

OnShow connects independent filmmaking with discovery, festival consideration and curated viewing. We bring these experiences together so that a film can have a clear identity, a lasting profile and, when its filmmaker chooses, a place for audiences to watch.

What you can do on OnShow

Enter the festival

The OnShow International Film Festival welcomes independent short films, documentaries, animation, student work, experimental cinema and AI films. Entries are reviewed for consideration; submitting a film does not guarantee selection or an award.

Build a film profile

Reviewed films can have a permanent page with a poster, synopsis, director information, trailer and confirmed festival results. These profiles help audiences discover the work and give filmmakers one place to share its story.

Future public viewing

Public viewing is planned for a later phase, once a suitable film library has been assembled. You can grant optional public-streaming permission when submitting now. This does not mean your private screener will be published or your film will start streaming immediately.

Filmmakers keep control

Filmmakers retain ownership of their work. A private festival screening link is for review and is never automatically turned into a public player. Optional public streaming permission is separate from festival judging and does not improve a film’s chances of selection.

Our inaugural edition

The Inaugural Edition · 2026 is an online festival with FREE ENTRY. Submissions close on November 30, 2026 at 15:00 PT, and the online showcase runs December 15–25, 2026. Selected filmmakers will be notified by email before the online showcase begins. Read the festival rules for entry requirements.

Organized by UOA

OnShow is organized by UOA — Union of Arts. Our aim is to create a welcoming space for independent stories and the people who make them, bringing film discovery, festival participation and authorized viewing together.

Two independent public playback permissions

Festival-period permission covers only December 15–25, 2026 in U.S. Pacific Time (PT). Long-term permission has no fixed end date and continues until withdrawal. These are separate from permission to display your film title, poster, synopsis and director biography in a long-term Film Profile.

Both permissions are optional and independent. You may choose either, both or neither. Your choices do not affect festival consideration, judging, selection or awards.

Neither permission automatically publishes your film. A separate authorized public playback source, editorial approval and an explicit publishing decision are required. Your private festival screener and password will not be published. Long-term public viewing is planned for a later phase, once a suitable film library has been assembled.

You retain ownership. To withdraw either playback permission, contact [email protected] with your film reference. OnShow will disable playback under its control within five business days of a verified request, prioritizing urgent rights concerns. Third-party platforms control their own copies. Withdrawing full-film playback does not automatically remove your promotional Film Profile; you may request its removal separately.

Festival entry + long-term film showcase

FREE ENTRY · Inaugural Edition · 2026

Entry to the 2026 edition is free. After review and approval, a dedicated Film Profile can display your title, poster, synopsis and director biography beyond the festival dates, with no additional publishing fee.

Full-film public playback requires a separate, optional authorization. Submission does not guarantee selection, an award or publication.
